Coaching Definition:
The ability to consistently do the actions required for growth — especially when you don’t feel like it. Discipline builds structure, habits, and long-term skill development.
In Youth Sports:
It’s not punishment — it’s learning how to show up, focus, repeat the process, and build dependable habits.
Coaching Definition:
A promise to yourself, your team, and your goals. It’s the emotional buy-in needed to push through challenges.
In Youth Sports:
It looks like showing up, trying through frustration, being coachable, and sticking with the season.
Coaching Definition:
A belief in your ability based on preparation, repetition, and small wins. Real confidence is earned, not given.
In Youth Sports:
Confidence grows from practicing skills, seeing progress, and feeling supported.
Discipline → Commitment
Habits create reliability; reliability strengthens commitment.
Commitment → Discipline
When athletes care, they practice with intention and stay consistent.
Discipline + Commitment → Confidence
Repetition + perseverance = confidence that shows up in competition.
These three traits aren’t just athletic qualities — they are life skills we want every athlete to walk away with.
Ubuntu
African philosophy of “ubuntu” — a concept in which your sense of self is shaped by your relationships with other people. It’s a way of living that begins with the premise that “I am” only because “we are.”
“Discipline is doing what you hate to do, but doing it like you love it.”
Owen Balla 2nd Place BTS Jr. League City Championships!!
Alfred Daniel’s wrestling journey began in Harlem, where he joined the Harlem Jets Wrestling Club as a young boy. Over the past 14+ years, Alfred has become a standout athlete — earning All-American honors at the high school, junior college, and Division III levels.
Now, Alfred has the opportunity to represent Sierra Leone, his home country, at the Senior World Wrestling Championships in Zagreb, Croatia this September. This marks his first appearance on the world stage — and a critical step toward his ultimate goal: competing in the 2028 Olympic Games.
We are raising funds to support Alfred’s travel, training, and competition expenses. Your donation will help make this dream a reality — and inspire the next generation of wrestlers from Harlem to Freetown.
Donate today and be part of Alfred’s Olympic journey.
Youth development is everyone's responsibility. We are grateful for your support.
